Ust-Donetskii

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Ust’-Donetskii Raion, Rostov Oblast, RSFSR. A river port since 1960, Ust’-Donetskii is situated on the right bank of the Severskii Donets River, 6 km from the mouth; it is located on an artificial inlet connected with the river by an approach canal. The primary cargoes are timber, coal, ores, and pyrite. The port’s freight piers are linked by railroad with the Gornaia station on the Northern Caucasus Railroad. Ust’-Donetskii has a naval shipyard.
