Ust’-Kachka

 

a balneological health resort in Perm’ Oblast, RSFSR; located on the Kama River, 58 km west of Perm’ and 12 km southwest of the Krasnokamsk railroad station. Summers are warm, with an average July temperature of 18°C, and winters are moderately cold, with an average January temperature of – 15°C. Annual precipitation is 560 mm. Ust’-Kachka has mineral springs with strong sodium chloride sulfide water and highly concentrated brine containing iodine and bromine; these are used in diluted form for drinking and for bathing in pools and baths. Treatment also utilizes artificial sulfide mud. The resort offers therapy for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, circulation, digestion, and skin, as well as for gynecological and neurological diseases. Ust’-Kachka has a sanatorium for children and adults and facilities for hydrotherapy, including a swimming pool.
