Turkmenskaia Iskra

(Turkmen Iskra), the Russian-language republic newspaper of the Turkmen SSR. It has been published in Ashkhabad since Nov. 7, 1924; it comes out six times weekly. Circulation, about 60,000 (1975). The newspaper was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1959.
