Veksha
Veksha
(belka; veveritsa), the smallest monetary unit in ancient Rus’ (ninth to 13th centuries). The veksha was first mentioned in the Primary Chronicle in the entry for 853-58 as well as in Russian Law, a monument of early Russian feudal law. A veksha equaled one-sixth of a kuna and a silver veksha weighed about one-third of a gram.
