Location:35 miles west of Marquette on US 41.
Facilities:147 modern campsites (é), 40 rustic campsites (é), rustic cabin,mini-cabin, picnic area and shelter, playground, beach house (é), boat launch(é), concession/store, snowmobile area.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, snowmobiling,cross-country skiing, wildlife observation, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park contains a half-mile of frontage on the east end of LakeMichigamme, which has a fine sand beach and also is one of the topwalleye lakes in the Upper Peninsula. Iron ore was first discovered inthis area in 1845, a few miles east of the park, and evidence of earlymining ventures can still be seen along the foot trails that wanderthrough the hills on the north side of the highway.
