Established: 1945.
Location:West-central Tennessee.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites, boat launch, auto tour routes, trails, historic site.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Several endangered or threatened species may be found on the refuge, inclduing bald eagle, least tern, woodstork and several species of mussels.
Habitats: 50,997 acres of water (ponds, rivers, and streams), forests, farmland, and grasslands.
Access: Open daily during daylight hours.
Wild life: Canada geese, mallards, wigeon, black ducks, wood ducks, heron, frogs, toads, turtles, bats, rabbits, nine-banded armadillo, woodchuck, and white-tailed deer.
