River Rise Preserve State Park
Location:Off US 441, 6 miles north of High Springs, within O'Leno State Park.
Facilities:Primitive campsites with a centrally located bathhouse and20-stall horse barn, 20 miles of horseback riding trails, picnicpavilion.
Activities:Camping, horseback riding, fishing.
Special Features:From the 1500s to the 1700s a natural land bridge formed acrossroad between the Santa Fe River Sink and the River Rise that wastraveled by Spanish explorers, Indians, and settlers. Today visitorscan see where the Santa Fe River disappears within O'Leno State Parkand then reemerges more than three miles away at River Rise. From thereit continues its journey on to the Suwannee River.
