The Quechua, Aymar, and neighboring Indians wear ponchos made of two rectangular panels of a striped woolen fabric that are not sewn together in the middle, leaving an opening for the head. Poncho-type cloaks made of fur are known among the Dayaks on the island of Kalimantan. Similar cloaks made of tapa (material from bast fiber) are worn by the Polynesians. PONCHO
