Location:Southwestern Idaho, 2 miles northeast of McCall city center.
Facilities:117 primitive and developed campsites (some with electricity), rentalcabins and yurts, group picnic shelters, trails, restrooms, showers,boat ramps, volleyball area, horseshoe pits, interpretive center.
Activities:Camping, swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, guided walks, interpretiveprograms.
Special Features:Park covers most of a peninsula that juts into Payette Lake nearMcCall, and a scenic overlook offers a spectacular view of the lake.The park's namesake Ponderosa pines--some 500 years old and 150 feethigh--are the most noticeable species of tree here, but Douglas fir,grand fir, lodgepole pine, and western larch also grow in the park. Thepark has more than 14 miles of groomed Nordic ski trails and has beenselected as the venue for the 2008 Masters World Cup, a prestigiousNordic skiing event.
