adrenotensin

adrenotensin

A polypeptide hormone which is derived from the same propeptide precursor as its more extensively studied sibling, adrenomedullin. Both act as circulating hormones and local paracrine mediators with multiple biological activities. Increased levels of angiotensin II and angiotensin II type-1 receptor after adrenotensin treatment mediate angiotensin’s stimulating effects on cell proliferation and extracellular matrix synthesis and secretion.
