ADR Index

ADR Index

An index that tracks all American Depository Receipts. Different indices have different criteria for which ADRs they track. For example, the Bank of New York tracks all ADRs traded on the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, and the American Stock Exchange. The Standard & Poor's ADR Index, on the other hand, tracks ADRs associated with companies tracked by the S&P 700. ADR indices are weighted for market capitalization.

ADR Index

A market-capitalization-weighted index that tracks all depositary receipts traded on the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, and Nasdaq. The Bank of New York publishes the index along with three regional ADR indexes (Europe, Asia, and Latin America) and three market ADR indexes (emerging markets, developed markets, and Euroland).
