Skhodnia

a city (since 1961) in Khimki Raion, Moscow Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the Skhodnia River, a tributary of the Moskva River. Railroad station 30 km southwest of Moscow. Population, 19,000 (1974). Skhodnia has a glassworks, a furniture-assembly combine, a knitwear factory, and a factory for clothing accessories. Educational institutions include a technicum offering courses related to the fur industry. Skhodnia has a tourist center.
