Established: 1963.
Location:90 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Facilities:Primitive campsites, viewing sites, picnic areas, trails.
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, hunting, educational programs.
Special Features:Pahranagat's water originates from large springs north of the refuge. The site includes four main water impoundments--North Marsh, Upper and Lower Pahranagat Lakes, and the Middle Marsh.
Habitats: 5,380 acres of marshes, meadows, lakes, and upland desert.
Access: Open year round, 24 hours a day.
Wild life: Waterfowl and shorebirds, including pintails, mallards, redheads, greater sandhill cranes. Also provides habitat for warblers, orioles, finches, sparrows, Gambel's quail, roadrunners, kit roxes, coyotes, mule deer and mountain lions.
