A receiver that warns the pilot of any aircraft either illuminating it or other-wise in its near vicinity. Most receivers are activated only when the adversary aircraft has its radar on in the direction of the aircraft. There is a suitable display in the cockpit indicating generally the type of threat and its location. The warning normally is supplemented by an audio warning.
