Ballistic Camera

 

a camera on an azimuthal support for photographing flying projectiles and missiles for the purpose of studying their trajectories. It is also used to photograph artificial earth satellites against the background of a starry sky. The term “ballistic camera” is sometimes also applied to cameras designed especially for observations of satellites.
