Skuduciai

Skudučiai

(skudutis), a Lithuanian wind instrument similar to the Russian kuvikly; a type of multipipe flute. The instrument consists of a set of wooden pipes not fastened together; the pipes are selected by the performer according to the part assigned to the instrument in a given musical composition. Each of the pipes is stopped with a cork at the lower end and produces a note of specific pitch. The sound produced and the method of playing are similar to those of a vertical flute. [23–1586–]
