Established: Authorized on November 10, 1978.
Location:At the northeast corner of the intersection of FM 1847 (Paredes Line Road) and FM 511, 5 miles north of downtown Brownsville, Texas.
Facilities:Visitor center, exhibits, self-guided trail with interpretive battlefield markers.
Activities:Guided tours and interpretive programs (on an irregular basis).
Special Features:Park preserves the large battlefield on which the first battle of the 1846-1848 Mexican War took place. It portrays the battle and the war, as well as its causes and consequences, from the perspective of both the United States and Mexico.
