Location:Off Highway 76, up Highway S6, then left on Highway S7 at the junction near the mountaintop.
Facilities:31 family campsites with hot showers and flush toilets, 3 group camps, stocked pond, picnic areas, hiking/nature trails.
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park preserves some of the finest coniferous woodland in the PeninsularRange and offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean when coastalfog is not present. In 1928, the builders of what was then the world'slargest telescope selected 6,100-foot Mount Palomar for theirobservatory. The observatory (located outside the park's boundaries) isopen to the public.
