Slag Car

a ladle of cast steel mounted on a railroad car for transporting molten metallurgical slag. In order to pour the slag off, the slag car is tipped in the required direction by means of an electric drive. The most common slag cars for blast-furnace and steel-smelting plants in the USSR have capacities of 11 and 16 cu m.
