Robert Ng

An investor who in the 1980s was responsible for the crash of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange due to a number of trades in which he was accused of illegally avoiding margin calls. These trades resulted in the collapse of the exchange, though Ng avoided criminal charges because it was thought that prosecution would further disrupt the market. He later became chairman of the Sino Group, a property development company, and one of the wealthiest people in the world.
