Tacca
Tacca a genus of perennial herbs of the family Taccaceae. The plants have tuberous or spreading rhizomes and large entire or pinnatisect leaves gathered in a rosette. The flowers, which are in umbellate inflorescences, have green, dark brown, reddish brown, or violet perianths. The fruit is a berry. There are about 30 species, distributed mainly in Southeast Asia. The species T. leontopetaloides (also known as T. pinnatifida) is cultivated in the tropics of the eastern hemisphere. Its rhizomes yield a starch with food value. TACCA
