Pancoast's syndrome

 [pan´kōsts] 1. radiographic shadow at the apex of the lung, neuritic pain in the upper limb, atrophy of the muscles of the arm and hand, and Horner's syndrome, observed with a tumor near the apex of the lung, due to involvement of the brachial plexus.2. osteolysis in the posterior part of one or more ribs and sometimes involving also the corresponding vertebra.
