Style Box Style BoxA way to describe the features of a mutual fund graphically. There are two types of style box. An equity style box is a box divided into nine smaller boxes. The vertical boxes represent the market capitalization (low, medium, and high) and the horizontal boxes represent the type of fund (value fund, mixed, or growth fund). A bond style box is much the same. The vertical boxes represent credit quality (low, medium, and high) and the horizontal ones represent maturity (short, medium, and long term). One may place a check mark or fill in the box that best describes a particular fund. Style boxes are used by Morningstar. |
