Terek Range

 

a mountain range of Ciscaucasia, situated mainly in the Chechen-Ingush ASSR. The Terek Range measures 165 km in length and rises to a maximum elevation of 664 m. It is composed of sand and clay deposits overlain by loesslike loam. On the slopes, steppes featuring sod and grasses predominate. There are hot sulfur and carbonic acid springs.
