Pangasinans

 

a people living on southwest Luzon, in the Republic of the Philippines, and numbering about 1 million (1970, estimate). The culture and customs of the Pangasinans are similar to those of the Tagalogs. Their language belongs to the Indonesian group; many of them also know Tagalog, the official language of the Philippines. Their religion is Catholicism. The primary occupation of the Pangasinans is the growing of rice and sugarcane.
