the plane of the left hepatic vein that corresponds superficially to the planes of the left sagittal fissure and the attachment of the falciform ligament, and separates the left medial and lateral divisions of the left (part of the) liver. Synonym(s): fissura umbilicalis [TA], left portal scissura

umbilical fissure

The anterior portion of the longitudinal fissure of the liver. It contains the round ligament, the obliterated umbilical vein. See also: fissure
