Ragulin, Aleksandr Pavlovich
Born May 5, 1941, in Moscow. Soviet athlete and ice-hockey player. Honored Master of Sports (1963). Officer in the Soviet Army and teacher. Member of the CPSU since 1969.
Ragulin played on the Central Army Club team that won the ice-hockey championship of the USSR nine times between 1963 and 1973. He was on the teams that won the European championships from 1963 through 1970 and again in 1973 and was on the Olympic gold-medal teams in 1964, 1968, and 1972. He became the only man in sports history to play ten times on teams that won the world ice-hockey championships (1963–73). Ragulin has been awarded three orders and a number of medals.
