RAID controller

RAID controller

A disk controller card that supports one or more RAID configurations. Originally only for SCSI drives, RAID controllers became very popular for PATA and SATA drives. See RAID.

Four Port RAID Conroller
This RAID controller from Promise supports four Serial ATA drives in a RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10 configuration. If one drive is set up as a hot spare, it uses the on-board memory to automatically rebuild the data on it if one of the other drives fails.
