postgraduate educational allowance scheme

postgraduate educational allowance scheme

A programme designed to help established GPs to keep up to date with developments in general practice by covering their expenses for relevant postgraduate education. To claim the full allowance, a GP needed to complete at least two approved courses in each band and have attended 25 days of approved postgraduate education, more or less evenly spread over a period of five years. The PEAS has been replaced by annual appraisals, which are required for revalidation with the GMC.
