sleep-onset insomnia

sleep-onset insomnia

The inability to sleep at one’s normal time of rest, which may be related to phobias (e.g., a childhood fear of wetting the bed, or deep-seated fears of dying while asleep). Sleep-onset insomnia may respond to improved sleep hygiene, meditation, autohypnosis or herbal teas, such as chamomile, basil, catnip, hops, lemon verbena and passionflower.
