sleep-phase syndrome sleep-phase syndromeAn autosomal dominant condition in which the person sleeps well and for a normal amount of time but not at the usual bedtime hours. Those with delayed sleep-phase syndrome may function best if they go to sleep about the time most people are awakening. Those with advanced sleep-phase syndrome do best when they go to sleep in late afternoon or early evening and arise about midnight.
