sleep-related disorder

Multiple arousals interfering with restful sleep that occur as a result of airway obstruction (e.g., during snoring). Excessive daytime sleepiness is the most common presenting complaint. The person may feel drowsy or fall asleep while talking, eating, or driving. Electrocardiographic abnormalities, elevated pulmonary and systolic arterial pressure, cardiac arrhythmias, and oxyhemoglobin desaturation may be associated laboratory findings. The disorder occurs in both sexes and often has a chronic course.
