a chronic, progressive, granulomatous, nonulcerating hypopigmented nodular cutaneous eruption that may appear 6 months to 5 years after spontaneous or drug cure of visceral leishmaniasis (kala azar); this condition was first described in India and is most characteristic of kala azar in that country.
