terminal VORterminal VORThis terrain alert system is a multicolored display. It shows terrain elevation in relation to aircraft current altitude. Green indicates terrain 1000 to 1500 ft below the current altitude. Yellow indicates that the terrain ahead is 500 to 1000 ft above the current altitude. If the color is red, the terrain is at 500 ft or at a lower altitude. Terrain alert is indicated by a red triangle with a “T” inside.A low-powered VOR (very high frequency omnidirectional radio-range) located at or near an airport at which a particular flight terminates and which has been specified as a NAVAID (navigational aid) in the final approach clearance.
