 [par″ah-kok-sid″e-oi´dēz] a genus of imperfect fungi that proliferate by multiple budding yeast cells in the tissues. P. brasilien´sis causes paracoccidioidomycosis.Paracoccidioides brasilien´sis the etiologic agent of paracoccidioidomycosis. Called also Blastomyces brasiliensis.
