Vladimir Vladomirskii
Vladomirskii, Vladimir Iosifovich
(pseudonym of V. I. Maleiko). Born Oct. 6 (18), 1893, in Kaunas; died Jan. 24, 1971, in Minsk. Soviet Byelorussian actor. People’s Artist of the USSR (1955). Member of the CPSU from 1941.
Vladomirskii began his stage career in 1920. In 1924 he became an actor at the la. Kupala Byelorussian Theater in Minsk. His roles included Bryzgalin in Mirovich’s The Career of Comrade Bryzgalin, Dryl’ in Krapiva’s The Partisans, Ababurka in Samuilenok’s Death of a Wolf, Apollon Murzavetskii in Ostrovskii’s Wolves and Sheep, Iusov in Ostrovskii’s A Profitable Business, Ivan Kolomiitsev in Gorky’s The Last Ones, Chesnok in Korneichuk’s On the Steppes of the Ukraine, and Gorlov in Korneichuk’s The Front. Vladomirskii was awarded two Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, and various medals.
