Evgen’ev-Maksimov, Vladislav Evgen’evich

 

(pseudonym of V. E. Maksimov). Born Sept. 6 (18), 1883, in the village of Demidovka, Kursk Province; died Jan. 1, 1955, in Leningrad. Soviet specialist in the study of literature.

Evgen’ev-Maksimov graduated from St. Petersburg University. He began teaching at Leningrad University in 1920, beginning as an instructor and becoming a professor. His main treatises are devoted chiefly to the life and writings of N. A. Nekrasov, as well as to the history of Russian journalism. These works are documented in detail.
