Rogosin, Lionel

(1924– ) documentary producer, film director; born in New York. After navy service, he made a highly acclaimed documentary, On the Bowery (1956), and then gained further acclaim for Come Back Africa (1959), filmed in South Africa with a concealed camera. He continued promoting avant-garde films through showings at the theater he owned, the Bleecker Street Cinema in New York City.
