Roi Baudouin
a Belgian scientific station in Eastern Antarctica. It is situated on an ice shelf in the eastern part of Queen Maud Land on Princess Ragnhild Coast (70°26’ S lat., 24°19’ E long.). It was established in 1958 and has served as a base for aerial photography and geodetic work as well as for geological, geophysical, and biological explorations of the eastern part of Queen Maud Land. From 1961 to 1963 it was not in operation. From 1964 to 1966 it was used as a base for a joint Dutch and Belgian expedition. It was temporarily closed in 1967. The station is named after the Belgian king.
