Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuester syndrome A congenital defect characterized by impaired differentiation of Müllerian duct; the uterus is rudimentary and cordlike; the deep vagina is absent and the outer part is shallow; fallopian tubes may be defective; there may be other sporadic congenital anomalies; ovaries are normal and induce normal femininizing puberty, except for lack of menstruation due to defective uterus; individuals are phenotypically and psychosexually ♀

Budd-Chi·a·ri syn·drome

(bŭd kē-ahr'ē sin'drōm) Hepatic vein obstruction; usually caused by thrombosis in inferior vena cava secondary to hypercoagulable states, vena caval webs, tumors, trauma, and bone marrow transplantation procedures. Can be idiopathic; most often associated with hepatomegaly and ascites.
