Rokiškis

a city and administrative center of Rokiŝkis Raion, Lithuanian SSR. Railroad station on the Panevėzys-Daugavpils line, 241 km north of Vilnius. Industry is represented by an experiment factory for agricultural machinery, a cheese plant, a cannery, a mixed-feed plant, and a clothing factory. Rokiŝkis also has a cultural academe and a museum of local lore.
