Ramadan fasting

The non-consumption of food or fluids from sunrise to sunset during the month of Ramadan, as prescribed in the Quran. Ramadan fasting does not produce adverse effects on the heart, lung, liver, kidney, eyes, haematologic profile, endocrine or neuropsychiatric functions; it is not recommended for noncompliant, poorly controlled and/or pregnant type-1 diabetics.
