Parapsychology Foundation

Eileen J. Garrett established the Parapsychology Foundation in New York in 1951, as a nonprofit educational organization to support “impartial scientific inquiry into the total nature and working of the mind and to make available the results of such inquiry.” The Foundation gives grants and publishes pamphlets, monographs, and conference proceedings. From 1953 onward, the Foundation published a bimonthly newsletter, the Newsletter of the Parapsychology Foundation, which in 1970 became the bimonthly Parapsychology Review. The highly esteemed International Journal of Parapsychology was also published from 1959 to 1968, and the Foundation also publishes paperback books under the Helix imprint. The 10,000 volume Eileen J. Garrett Library provides invaluable research information and facilities to researchers and students.

The Foundation holds an annual International Conference, covering such topics as “The Study of Mediumship: Interdisciplinary Perspectives,” discussing mediumship from different points of view and from the perspective of different disciplines.
