Roller, Mihail
Born May 6, 1908; died June 21, 1958. Rumanian historian. Academician of the Rumanian Academy. Member of the Rumanian Communist Party (RCP) from 1926.
Roller contributed to Communist publications and was repeatedly arrested for revolutionary activity. He was director of the Institute of History of the Rumanian Academy from 1948 to 1955 and deputy director of the Institute of Party History under the Central Committee of the RCP from 1955 to 1958. He edited the first Marxist textbook on Rumanian history and several publications devoted to documents on the Revolution of 1848–49, the history of the labor movement, and the peasant uprisings in Rumania in 1888 and 1907. He studied the history of the labor and socialist movement and the history of the RCP.
