Parbig

 

a river in Tomsk Oblast, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Chaia (Ob’ River basin). It is 320 km long and drains an area of 9,180 sq km. It rises in Vasiugan’e, across which it flows in a northeasterly direction. It is fed mainly by melted snow. The mean flow rate 23 km from the mouth is 28.1 cu m per sec. High water occurs from April through June. The Parbig freezes in late October or early November, and the ice breaks up at the end of April or beginning of May. It is navigable in its lower course.
