Taginae

(also Tadinae; now Gualdo Tadino), a town in the central Apennines, in Perugia Province, Italy. In A.D. 552 a Byzantine army under Narses, numbering 20,000, defeated the army of the Ostrogoth king Totila, numbering more than 20,000. Totila was mortally wounded in the battle.
