Sliudianka

a city and the administrative center of Sliudi-anka Raion, Irkutsk Oblast, RSFSR. Situated on the southern shore of Lake Baikal. Railroad station on the Trans-Siberian Railroad, 120 km from Irkutsk, with a 94-km branch line to the settlement of Baikal. Population, 21,000 (1974). Sliudianka has railroad-transportation enterprises and a fish cannery. Marble is quarried for building materials and for the production of raw material for cement.
