Baianaul

 

an urban-type settlement, center of Baianaul Raion, Pavlodar Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located in the Baianaul Mountains on the shore of Lake Sabyndykul’, 135 km south of the Ekibastuz railroad station (on the Tselinograd-Pavlodar line). Population, 7,500 (1967). Baianaul has a combine which manufactures reinforced concrete structural components and building materials, as well as a mixed feed plant. There is a museum devoted to K. I. Satpaev, who was born in Baianaul Raion and lived in Baianaul during the years 1920–22.
