Baian-Ulegei

Ulegei, city in the western part of the Mongolian People’s Republic, in the valley of the Kobdo River. It is the administrative center of Baian-Ulegei Aimak. Population, 8,100 (1963). It is a shipping point on the Transmongolian Highway. There are textile (wool), clothing, and food enterprises.
