Terskov, Ivan Aleksandrovich
Born Sent. 11, 1918, in the village of Iakovo, in what is now Novoselovo Raion, Krasnoiarsk Krai. Soviet biophysicist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Member of the CPSU since 1959.
Terskov graduated from the Krasnoiarsk Pedagogical Institute in 1939. From 1952 to 1963 he was head of the subdepartment of physics at the Krasnoiarsk Medical Institute. In 1957 he began working at the Institute of Physics of the Siberian Division of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, becoming director of the institute in 1969. His works deal with regulations of formation and biophysics of populations such as differential analysis of erythrocytes (erythrogram), as well as with highly productive automated culturing of chlorellas, yeasts, and hydrogen bacteria and the creation of an experimental automatic life-support system based on directed biosynthesis of microorganisms and higher plants. Terskov has been awarded two orders and various medals.
